About New Grace

In 2003, under Rev. Leroy Middleton's leadership, the idea of merging three Methodist churches in Reevesville was born. A committee was formed, chaired by Willie J. Jenkins, to oversee the merger. After Reverend Middleton's passing, Reverend Arthur Gilyard took charge until 2005, when New Grace United Methodist Church officially opened its doors. Rev. Jerry L. Lane then led the congregation, followed by Rev. Warren Murdock and Rev. Charles K. Wilson, Sr. Events such as the dedication of a new site in 2006 and the purchase of a parsonage in 2013 marked significant milestones. The pandemic prompted a shift to virtual worship in 2020, and Rev. Constance Nelson Barnes became pastor in 2021, emphasizing teamwork and community outreach. Fundraising efforts, ministry expansions, and construction projects have characterized recent years, with a theme of continuous growth driving the church forward into its 19th anniversary in 2024.
